Fear not people, the Sgt. York isn't loaded with any ammo... I-I don't think...
This is a little gift/request/thing for who's been following me since my very first tank vector. I hope it's alright. :S "I would have loved to see Trixie in a Sgt. York, seeing as both had all flair and nothing to back it up"
The M247 "Sgt. York" was a mobile AA vehicle that had a very interesting development. Basically, it malfunctioned right from the get-go; it's radar system was unable to distinguish between helicopters and trees, when the guns were pointed upward to fire on high-angle targets the barrels projected into the radar's line of sight and further confused the system. At one stage in it's testing, it even started aiming its guns at review stands, causing several minor injuries as members of the group jumped for cover. More problems developed as time went on, and the tank was eventually cancelled.

If anyone want's me to upload another version where the Sgt. York isn't malfunctioning (HAH, that'd be a first), just ask and one shall receive. And here it is on Sta.sh: [link]
You don't get the joke, it's identified her as an "Air" target because irl the tank's radar system could not distinguish the difference between tree's/people/whatever against helicopters/planes. Her stance would look remotely like that of a plane, therefore the false identification.
And it doesn't matter if "it" has her Cutie Mark, because again, irl the tank had trouble identifying friend or foe, seeing in it's testing phase it targeted a review stand full of people. "Friendly" people.
>You don't get the joke -Yeeeah... The '??' were a pretty good indication of that, yes. -_- Anyway, from the looks of it, it seems to be from 'something' I don't know... which would explain that.
This tank is really an existing one ? I mean, 'produced/used on real battlefields' ?
If you read the description, and/or Google the "Sgt York" you will find it was not mass produced and used on real battlefields. It only went through testing phases and as of which the problems came about which led to the project being cancelled. [link]
Hehehehe, very nice! That's also hilarious about how well that tank performed! Ingenious match-up for sure!!
Also, "Hostile Air Target Identified". I lol'd so much cause Trixie isn't an air target - and she's on the ground (presumably). Guess she kinda does look like a tree, though...
Also... 'it' has Trixie's cutiemark on it. Shouldn't it be on her side then ?

Hehe, well I suppose with Trixie's front legs how they are, she could've been confused as a plane.
